It’s been a long year, has it not?
On this date, one year ago, the United States began to shut down. Up to that day, things were as normal as they had ever been. We had days of work and play that included hugs, smiles, coffee, and togetherness.
At that time, my daughter and I were on a trip celebrating her college graduation. The first few days of our vacation were fun and carefree. But they were the last normal-feeling days we would have for a very long time.
The emergency orders were implemented, we were far away from home, and things were beginning to shut down all around us. We still had a plane ride to navigate for the return trip home. Talk about stress!
At that time, we had no idea what we would be facing in the next year. I’m sure you didn’t either. We were all blindsided by the unexpected.
We never know what the future will bring. We never know when things will change or when life will bring us something we never expected. The trials and hurts that we might face in the future? We just never know.
But God does. He holds the future, and He holds us as we walk into it.
